...The Faro Hotel cats & dogs
01/03/2011
Our next stop was El Faro cats (Cappo Caccia) Absolutely inondated with starving cats!! and look who else was living amongst them. Faro had been left to fend for himself and he lives on the scraps of biscuit people leave for the cats. We so wanted to take him back with us but did not think Max and Bertie wolf approve of another male. Very sad each time we left him as he chased our car for ages.:(
We stumbled across a dead dog that had been poisoned. The dog had been lying in his own sick for days and nobody even bothered to move him. What an awful sight. We buried the poor soul<

This is poor Mario, a new boy entered the colony. Not yet accepted. Unfortunately has lost an eye and because of his white colouring, has cancer on his ears. He was behaving as though he could see very little and may be deaf. We were about to leave for England, so could not do anything for him this time. I so hope that he is there in April,

This little character, pregnant again, has been the most difficult cat I have ever tried to trap. 3 years and still no joy! unfortunately too pregnant this time to do anything so another set of kittens will be born and probably die here.
We took a trip to see how the local feral colony were getting along
The little lost dog Faro is fed too
Heartbreaking having to leave animals behind to fend for themselves
Poor vecchio, an old friendly boy with very bad wounds. Probably FIV as they will not heal.
Pregnant again, the one that keeps getting away!
