In the absence of basic veterinary care, many cats will become chronically sick. Flea and worm infestations lower an animal's immune system making them very vulnerable to infections. Many popular tourist areas are renowned for their 'crazy drivers', injuries sustained by stray animals can be horrific. Limbs can be literally hanging by a thread and if left untreated, will become infected and cause greater suffering.
