Another handy tip for satisfying a hunting need, is to leave titbits (dry biscuits) randomly around the home. Your cat will enjoy a rewarding hunt/scavenge/search or just have a pleasant surprise when they come across them now & then.
If you want to dissuade hunting, an alternative or more appealing activity should be made available
Laser toys can be great fun & excellent enrichments to burn up pent up energies (it can also be great fun for us).
Care should be taken to avoid shining the light or reflecting the laser directly into a cats sensitive eyes!
A treat should be available at the end of the game, so that they are not simply left frustrated by the their prey escaping them every time.
