DIY SOS Sardinia Blog - Day 2
Day 2 and I get dropped off at the villa first thing. Today I carry on with the odd jobs. I fix some new bolts, make the shed door close, finish the new netting, cable tie the netting on the other side of the shed to make it secure, trim the roof on the right side using an angle grinder. The new roof arrives as well as two rolls of felt for the shed which is significantly leaking. After borrowing a ladder from Geovanni (the builder working in the villa) I start looking at the roof. I notice that the existing felt has been blown about so I lay it back. However the current roof felt has been laid top to bottom and not side to side and is significantly broken up at the edges. Finally I start looking at how to fit the new plastic roof. On the up side the delivery of the plastic revels one very large piece which pretty much covers the whole structure. It’s quite different from the type we have here, and seems to be made from something more akin to fibreglass. I give up for the day at about 6pm however there is no sign of my lift so I set up a deck chair and wait in the sun surrounded by cats. I get a text saying Silvana and Sharon are in meetings and running very late. When they arrive at about 7:30 we head off but they are still busy so I grab some shower stuff and cloths from Fertilia to get ready in town. Another late dinner. Bed around 1:00.
